Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Perapera ("the App", "we", "us", "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Perapera is an AI-powered Japanese speaking practice app for learners of Japanese. Core features include:

Instant Translation: See an English prompt, speak the Japanese translation, and receive AI scoring on clarity, grammar, naturalness, and politeness.
Shadowing: Listen to a native model and shadow it; receive scores on similarity, fluency, and pronunciation.
Japanese Diary: Speak or type your day in Japanese; AI corrects your phrasing to natural Japanese.

Use of the App on Apple platforms is also subject to Apple's Standard EULA.

2. Account

An account, created via Google or Apple sign-in, is required to use the App.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that show signs of unauthorized or fraudulent use.

3. Subscriptions

The App offers two paid plans: Standard and Advanced. Standard includes a 3-day free trial.
Subscriptions are auto-renewing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
The renewal charge is billed within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Subscriptions).

4. Pricing

Standard: 3-day free trial, then USD 7.99 / month. Includes 5 instant-translation sessions per day and 2 shadowing AI evaluations per day.
Advanced: USD 11.99 / month, no trial. Includes 10 sessions per day, 4 shadowing evaluations per day.

Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. Any changes apply to subsequent billing periods only.

5. Refunds

All subscription refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly. To request a refund:

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App.
Access another user's account without authorization.
Call our APIs directly, scrape data, or attempt to bypass rate limits.
Submit content that is violent, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or harassing toward third parties.
Use the App for illegal purposes or in violation of public order.
Place an unreasonable load on our servers or network.

Violations may result in account suspension or termination without prior notice.

7. Disclaimer

AI-generated scores, corrections, and tips are provided as guidance only and may not always be accurate.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the App.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and software in the App are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
